MARIA CARR E-RYT 500, Registered Holistic Nutritionist
"The FLOW continues to keep me balanced and strong and is a constant practice of discovery, acceptance and mystery.”
I am honoured to be sharing Flowyoga with you.
Maria Carr, yoga teacher since 1996, lead teacher in the Inspired Life Teacher Training program, owner of the Port Perry Flowyoga Studio and continual student of life. She is currently studying yoga anatomy with Leslie Kaminoff and Amy Matthews and is an avid student of yoga philosophy.
She is passionate about sharing the teachings of Yoga and strives to create a calm and open environment in which to practice. She completed her yoga teacher training in 1996 with Kaila Kukla and has been teaching full time ever since. In Toronto Maria worked with many different groups of people including those recovering from addictions and stressed out executives in both private and group settings. After moving to Port Perry in 2000 she began to develop a dedicated group of yoga students that continues to grow. The Port Perry Flowyoga Studio opened in 2009 to provide a sacred space for a deeper exploration between mind, body, breath and soul.
Maria embodies a deep sense of intuitive awareness as an instructor and is responsive to her students in a way that communicates love and joy.
"I enjoy the balance yoga brings to mind and body."
Mike has a passion for fitness. He enjoys running, cycling, triathalon and team sports. As a way to increase his flexibility, he started practicing yoga 8 years ago and now includes yoga as part of his warm up. Mike's favourite postures include the warrior series, which strengthen the legs and help develop focus and concentration.
Through Mike's encouragement you will discover new possibilities for yourself physically and mentally.
"Yoga connects me with my youthful self."
Health and fitness have always been important to Heather. She enjoys the challenge and competition of team sports. To provide a balance in her life she became interested in yoga in 2000 and tried various styles. "It enabled me to quiet my mind, and enjoy being alone on my mat discovering my edges in the postures."
She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training with Maria at the studio in 2012. Aiming for balance, optimal health and peace of mind, she leads students through challenging, fun and interesting yoga poses. Her wish is to share the boundless, holistic benefits of yoga with everyone.
“It is my belief that everyone has a light within.”
Catherine was drawn to Yoga in 2006 as a way to quiet her mind and find balance during a busy time in her life.
This led Catherine to complete the Inspired Life Teacher training program with Maria Carr in 2013 where she found her passion for teaching.
Catherine offers her students love and compassion thereby allowing them to shine their own light. Her class focuses on mindful alignment and encourages students to feel their way into the postures from the inside.
“It is such a gift to witness the students grow physically, emotionally and spiritually.”
She offers the energy and healing of Reiki in her Peace and Renewal workshops and teaches training courses in both Reiki Level I and Reiki Level II.
“Connecting with your True Self and Healing Energy encourages physical, spiritual and emotional well being while bring about Peace and Calm… Calm is strength."

Bridgette enjoys the sense of peace that yoga cultivates as well as the physical, emotional and spiritual growth. In 2014 she graduated from the Inspired Life 200 hr teacher training program. She is excited to learn more about yoga and recognizes that this is a life long journey.
"Don’t practice Yoga to get better at Yoga, practice yoga to get better at living.”
Bobbi’s passion for teaching emerges from her commitment to improving mental health and wellness through the sharing of yoga. She started Yoga for the physical benefits and soon began to notice and experience a profound calming effect in her life. To better her understanding of the practice and help with her own wellness she began The Inspired Life teacher training program. Her classes will enable you to strengthen your body, release tension, relax your mind and come away with a sense of calm that carries through to your everyday life. Her favourite posture is the stillness of Mountain after a strong Warrior sequence. Off the mat Bobbi enjoys reading, boating and spending time in nature. She shares her home with her husband, 2 children and 2 pets Angus (English Bulldog Boxer) & Minnie (kitten).

"Let the beauty that you love – be what you do." - Rumi
It’s my belief that a yoga practice and all its inherent gifts can be enjoyed by anyone. Yoga is there for the taking. Over the years I’ve shared classes and workshops with teachers from Costa Rica to Cuba, from Saskatchewan to St. John’s and each has been a unique and invaluable source of information and inspiration. This past year I participated in Maria’s teacher training program. Her guidance, authenticity and wisdom gave me the confidence and the desire to share yoga with others. My goal is to provide students with a safe, joyful, welcoming environment in which they can grow their practice, and experience the myriad benefits yoga has to offer. I hope you will join me.
